LCNY

I mentioned before that Liz Claiborne is now Liz Claiborne New York. Everything is now designed by Isaac Mizrahi (he also designs an affordable line for Target). I will admit that I prefer his designs over the the previous designer. His line is called POP and this seasons designed is called color Multiply. Color Multiply means that anything you buy this season, will match next season, so if you're paying for two outfits, you're really buying 4. Check out some of his accessories I took:
Jewelry:
Purses:
Shoes:

I'm a sandals kind of gal, so I absolutely love the last 3!

PRETTY HEADBANDS

Add Imagei don't know about you but i've been seeing and reading about this shop in many of the blogs i encounter. apparently, they did a site relaunch recently, so i went to check it out. love it! no wonder, the site is filled with pretty headbands. the downfall, though, is too expensive for me. however, they did add the much more affordable line of still lovely pieces(shown in pictures below) called heart by bando. everything in that line is under $50. not bad right?

but wait! i managed to find another shop that makes pretty headbands called tree and kimball. the two designers work for anthropologie but their pieces at their etsy shop are much more affordable. here are some of their head pieces which are all under $30:

both shops are worth checking out! trust me you won't be disappointed. if you can, let us know if you ordered anything.

enjoy!

FALL TRENDS

Fashion trends come & go... & then they come back! Above are this years fall 2008 fashion trends.

Pointy toed heels are back, but when aren't they? they go well with practically anything from formal to casual clothing.
Dresses in bold solid colors, the simpler the better (or what ever you prefer).
Plaid prints -- preferably full-print on dresses or jackets. Not unless you don't care what other's think, then wear it what ever way you want.
Floral tops, but remember to think fall and autumn colors.
Tuxedo Jackets, check out Kate Moss' style. She sports the jacket often & it looks good.
Snake Print heels, belts, bracelets. Little accents, not head to toe!
Cut-out bootie boots, or ankle boots. Also cut-out heels, not straped heels (too fancy).
Layering necklaces, whether its a bundle of necklaces together, or 1 made with lots of layers.
Lace is also in. Lace tops or lace accented tops.

Mix & match, but don't wear all this at one time! Like I always say, find your own style -- Something that will bring out your personality. Buying clothes that fits your correctly will flatter your figure.

Shop around before you jump into something & regret it later on. Regret as in finding it at a sale price elsewhere!

AN OUTFIT UNDER $130

This outfit is a good way to end the summer & to sneak your way into the fall, in my opinion; Whites to end the summer and red & brown to start off fall. This is a very simple outfit.
Cardigan (optional): $22.80 @ Forever 21
V-Neck Tank: $8.90 @ Heritage 1981
Artist Jeans: $19.95 @ American Eagle Outfitters (was $29.50)
Crinkle Lurex Scarf: $19.50 @ American Eagle Outfitters
Faux Leather Handbag: $26.80 @ Forever 21
Ankle Strap Sandals: 12.40 @ Old Navy (was $19.50)

If I wore jewelry with this outfit, I would just wear white-gold hoop earrings. & since I am a California girl, I can live without the cardigan!

Anyway, don't just stick to the examples I give you. Bring out your personality. Play with the colors and be inspired by the season. I'm a laid-back girl & I don't like to be too flashy so you'll see a lot of simple outfits from me. Unless I feel a bit out of the ordinary!

My tip: If you have a short upper torso like I do, wearing shirts that are about 3-inches below your hip bone will make it appear longer.

AN OUTFIT UNDER $150

I bet you I can put together a chic outfit under $150. $150?! That may sound like a big price tag, but when you see all the goodies you get to have, it will make up for the so-called scary price!

Here you will get a Lil taste of my sense of style:

Everything you see are priced under $40.
Glasses - $5.80 @ Forever 21
Jacket - $39.99 @ Tilly's
Shirt - $15.99 @ American Eagle Outfitters
Skinny Jeans - $34.99 @ Charlotte Russe
Over-sized Bag - $19.99 @ Charlotte Russe
Sandals - $15.99 @ Papaya Clothing

The places that I named are only suggestions! If you find them on sale or cheaper elsewhere, by all means, go ahead and get them! And remember, there isn't anything wrong with spending a little more cash for quality fabric -- it may last you awhile longer!

Know your limit and find clothing that will bring out your personality. Have fun shopping!
